About us

If you want to share your thoughts about the things, places and experiences that move, thrill and inspire you, this site is for you. Equally, if you want to read recommendations from your friends, family, the groups you join and the wider community, you are in the right place.

This is a social network unlike any other. We do not want to keep you clicking. We want you to have fun sharing ideas which inspire you to log off and do something else.

“Life is short. Nobody should  waste time on cultural pursuits that do not enrich them at all. Although it is nice to blaze a trail, we can’t always be the first to try something new. So if you want to be moved, delighted, shocked, educated or just have a laugh, this is a place where people you trust might be keen to tell you about the things they love. And if something excites or delights you, please share the benefit of your experience.”

Reason for existing

There are plenty of suggestions available for how you should spend your time and money. Social media, talk shows, reviews, interviews, adverts, blog posts and influencers all jostle for your attention. But they are usually selling something, trying to make you upset or keep you clicking. They always have their own agenda.

We don’t believe that an algorithm that understands your past browsing behaviour can surprise you with its suggestions. It might stimulate or soothe you. Any intelligence that tracks your likes and clicks when you are on your own cannot help you understand the passions of the people you care about, help you to share them and deepen your relationships.

Our ambition is to enable you to supply or read suggestions in a feed that make an impact offline.  If you want to spend your time well, why not soak up advice from people you follow or already know, love and trust. Return the favour by telling people about the things you think are wonderful in some way and you recommend to your circle.

Right now, books, boxed sets, podcasts, courses are easy to come by. When the world starts to get back on its feet, you might want to trade tips about what is good at the theatre, or an exhibition, or a restaurant, an experience or a new city.

Rules are posting are simple. You are not paid. It is something that others can do. It is not a creative writing exercise. You are not a critic. Nothing is perfect but the thing you are writing about has to be really, really great or this is not the right forum for your opinion.

Here are some tips to get you started
